Bleeding heavy between period for months?

Reading your story is like hearing mine all over again. This was happening me for months on end! Heavy bleeding in-between periods, and alot of pain. I eventually got my doctor to refer me to a gynaecologist . I went for a number of ultra sounds starting in July 2010. They found a choclate cyst about 3 cm on my right ovary and what looked like endometriosis. She explained to me that going on birth control would stop the cyst growing anymore and stop the endo from spreading. My partner and I decided at that point we would try conceive. 6 months past and still no hope , the pain and the bleeding were getting worse. I had an appointment for January 2011 for another ultrasound where they found the cyst had grown to 8 cm and the endo had also gotten worse. It was then she said I needed a laparosopy to remove the cyst and endo. I had that done February 8th 2011. I had stage 4 endo which is the worst. It was stopping me from ovulating hence the reason I was not conceiving. The doctor told me I will have no problem in conceiving now . I have had one period since then and the bleeding has stopped in-between. Hope you get it sorted soon. Baby dust to you.
