My radio does not work in my '06 dodge dakota?

Yesterday, I was cleaning the dash in my dakota and I popped out a little light above my radio to clean goop off of it. After I put it back together I noticed my clock radio display malfunctioning. I.e. it instead of displaying 12:01 it displayed 88:88. I disconnected the battery in an attempt to reset the radio. Well today the clock displays the time just fine however none of the buttons work on the radio. I am unable to turn the radio on, unable to eject cd's, and unable to adjust the time on the clock. none of the buttons work. So I dont know what to think. I am not sure if there is something wrong with the radio or just the buttons. I checked some of the fuses and they seem fine and everything else (cigarette lighter, dome lights, ect) to my knowledge all work fine. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be and how to fix it?
