My cat constantly has sneezing attacks?

I got my cat about 6 months ago. He was a stray, and when we found him, his eye was goopy and he kept sneezing. We figured that it was just a cold, but his eye still produces this green/brown goop, that smells, he still sneezes, and makes wheezing noises all the time. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong with him?
