My Cat just gave birth!?

My cat had her kittens. We weren't around forr the birth because we were sleeping. We woke up and my cat had a kitten in her bed with her and shes licking it and nursing it. We also found another kitten about ten feet away from her covered in lots clear membrane and along with a pile of red goop. Its obviously dead. I'm confused on why she didn't clean it off and why she didn't have it in her bed??? Also we think there are more kittens inside of her because we can feel them inside of her when we rub her tummy. Why isn't she giving birth to those kittens??? Please help!!!!
