I have white goop in my eyes constantly?

ok so i have a lot of goop in my eyes all the time. it used to just be a little here or there but now its so bad that when i wake up in the morning i have to pull my eyes open. its not pink eye i'm positive of that. but its whitish or clear and throughout the day it blurs my vision. i wear contacts and i have for years so i don't see how that would cause it since it just started getting so bad this past month. i have been doing make up or something and find huge strings going through my eyes. its really bad now and constantly ruins my make up. which is bad since im an aspiring make-up artist. please have an at home remedy if there is one. i clean my eyes every night and morning to no avail. and rubbing goop out of my eyes isn't good either so i'm afraid if it continues i may get an infection.
