Need name for a sci-fi movie from the 70's, 80's (?)...?

I've looked through several different lists and apparently none of them have this movie I'm looking for on it. It sounds like Hangar 18 in the beginning, but instead of the ship coming down they retrieve a satellite that was struck by a UFO. Later they examine the satellite only to find a goop that later cocoons on the satellite, then one-by-one takes out the crew that recovered the satellite.
