Earring won't go through!?

I got my ears pierced 8 weeks ago and today i took out the studs they pierced them with. I tried to put new ones in, and it went in fine in one ear, but in the other there is a small knot and the back is kind of purple. every time i try to stick it through it bleeds! when i took the first stud out it looked like there was this goop stuff on the back of the earring. I cleaned my ears with the stuff they gave me too! I feel like theres some knot in the middle thats not letting me get it through! HELP?!
