Can an Army recruiter change the AIT starting date before me shipping out to basic?

That your recruiter is an active duty Soldier has nothing to do with his knowledge of how AITs are arranged. All AITs and BCTs are done on Active Duty bases and all training for all branches of the Army are the same. We can't just move an AIT start date for you. You can ask your recruiter if there is an earlier AIT scheduled and he might be able to assist you in making arrangements to attend that one, but if one doesn't exist, it doesn't exist. What you can do is inform your professors that you will be two weeks late returning from an active duty service obligation and often they will work for you if you make up the work. Good luck!
