It's a physical fact. In the Gospels, the disciples were able to touch Jesus' wounds, and he ate and drank with them. His body was physically discovered to be gone from the tomb; otherwise Christianity could have been nipped in the bud by the Pharisees producing the body, because the location of Joseph of Arimathea's tomb was well-known. Paul said in one of his letters that without the resurrection, our faith is in vain, and he was referring to the physical resurrection, listing actual people who had seen the risen Christ.
